Recently while I was home visiting my parents, my mom and I decided it would be a great time to open up her wedding dress. She had it perserved a year after they got married. I had no idea what went into perserving a wedding gown but basically it just means there are a whole lot of boxes, bags, and tissue paper to delay your future daughter as you digs through it all to see your gown.
We had a lot of fun!
Each of the boxes had a funny saying on it.
My favorite was "a lifetime of lovliness".
"Bridal Gown Treasure Chest" was a close second.
My mom is still super skinny and exactly the same size. If I could wear her dress I think I might. It was beautiful.
I had my gown preserved two days after my wedding. I just opened it and it is so YELLOW Ia ma so upset that this was supposed to be cleaned packed and preserved. I never opened it since 1975. This was a major disappointment for me. I dont know if It can be restored. Is there anything I can do. I threw the box *A lifetime of lovliness* out as it smelled of something like a chemical as the gown does and packed it in a plastic zippered bag. I would like to have it restored to its natural beauty.
